An Improved Synchronization Stability Method of Virtual Synchronous Generators Based on Frequency Feedforward on Reactive Power Control Loop

The synchronization stability of the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) under grid fault is an important issue for maintaining stable operation in power system. Existing work has pointed out a low-pass filter (LPF) with sufficiently low cutoff frequency reactive control loop (RPCL) can improve transient stability. Yet, underlying mechanism was unknown. Moreover, as key index VSG and precondition stability, response rarely studied. In this article, based on linearized model qualitative analysis, combined nonlinear quantitative improving using LPF RPCL revealed. Furthermore, to avoid increasing system order solve conflict between response, improved method proposed by feedforwarding difference RPCL. also acquired model, which shows that feedforward further enhance How design coefficient path different inertia requirements presented. Finally, verified experimental results.
